Technicare will come to your home to evaluate damages that have occurred to your property due to water.

You will receive an approximate time during which the work will be completed.

Due to the complex nature of the assessment, there is a charge of $125.00.  This fee will be applied to the total cost of the job if the work is performed.

Water damage is a progressive condition.  Drying time varies depending on the types of materials, airflow volume, temperature, and the indoor and outdoor humidity.  Therefore, it is impractical to give an accurate quote for services before completion.  Technicare will provide a written estimate of cost for the work to be completed upon request.  We must stress that these are only estimates and the price is subject to change due to unforeseen situations that can only be determined once the work is started.

 

You should always contact your insurance company.  It does not mean you have to submit a claim.

You will want to find out if you are covered, how much the deductible is and what your policy maximum is.

We are not insurance adjusters or agents nor can we interpret your policy for you.  We cannot authorize anything to be replaced or repaired.

Our main priority is to stop further damage from occurring and restore items to their prior condition when possible.

A Work Authorization must be signed before any work can begin.

 

Our assessment is designed to identify how much damage has occurred and plan the necessary emergency work.

We survey the affected areas for safety reasons.  We check the area for bad flooring, ceiling damage, wall and baseboard damage, electrical hazards, mold etc.

The assessment will also consist of moisture readings on floors and walls, air humidity readings, and the estimated length of time the water has been sitting.

We determine the source/category of water and if the source has been stopped.

Determine if the furniture can be saved.

We will put all furniture on blocks or plastic tabs in the affected area to prevent rust or staining from damaging the carpet.

We will use our specialized water extraction equipment to remove as much water as possible from the affected area.

Most cases will require us to remove the padding.  This is done to protect the subfloor and speed the drying process.

Carpet

Carpet will be checked to see if it can be restored.

In some cases, the carpet needs to be removed due to delamination, mold, mildew or category of water.

In order to remove carpet we may need to remove doors, thresholds or cut seams.

In the event that the walls are wet, the baseboards may need to be removed.

Small holes may be cut into the drywall behind the baseboard to allow airflow and speed drying.

Occasionally it is necessary to cut off the bottom two feet or more of drywall.  You will be notified before this is done.

The restoration process may include the application of disinfectants.

Our disinfectants are EPA registered antimicrobial agents which inhibit the growth of microorganisms.

Technicare uses advanced drying equipment.

We will determine how many air movers and dehumidifiers it will take to complete the job in a safe, timely manner.

This equipment is rented on a daily basis.  Most damages are completely dry within two to four days.  You are financially responsible for lost, stolen or damaged equipment while it is on your property.

Technicare will be responsible for removing carpet and/or padding from the property and disposing of it properly.

Additional property that is damaged can be removed by Technicare by the request of the owner.

During the following days the equipment will need to be left on, and a technician may come DAILY to monitor equipment by checking moisture and humidity readings.  The technician will then notify you of the progress.

Once everything is completely dry, we will return to pick up equipment, install new padding if applicable, reinstall carpet if it was saved, move back all furniture and clean all affected areas.

 

If possible, move everything you can to prevent further damage.

We ask that all valuables, breakables and clothing are removed from affected areas as soon as possible.

Technicare technicians will move large furniture items to safely and efficiently clean and dry the affected areas.

As we are working we may find affected personal items.  We will notify you when this happens so you can go through the items.

 

Because all water damage is different, there is no set amount of time for the process to be completed.  Typically, everything is dry within two to four days but the re-installation of padding, tacking down or reinstalling existing carpet and cleaning may not be done right away due to scheduling conflicts and material back order.

All work will be done as efficiently and effectively as possible.  An estimated time will be given during the evaluation process.

 

Stop Work-Hold Harmless 

In the event that Technicare is not allowed to perform the recommended procedures and/or drying equipment is removed prematurely, the undersigned shall release and hold Technicare harmless, and indemnify Technicare against any claims or actions that may result from such incomplete procedures.
