Snow Removal Waiver

You may see Technicare on your property before the first snowfall. With a signed contract, we assess your property for pre-existing damage and may place snow marking devices to facilitate locations of curbs, entrances and plow obstacles. The devices give the plow operators a visible path in snowy weather and aid in the prevention of possible property damage. Your contract will dictate which areas are being serviced on your property.

Technicare may remove snow from your drive and parking areas with plow trucks. Walkways, steps, porches, handicap zones and mailbox units may be cleared by hand with shovels. To prevent damage to garage doors from plow blades, Technicare may use a shovel to remove snow adjacent to garage doors.

You may notice two teams of technicians. The first may just operate a plow and remove as much snow as possible. A second team of technicians may follow to remove the remaining snow by shovel and apply de-icing compounds.

While plowing, Technicare will make every effort not to restrict access to all fire hydrants and mail boxes. If the hydrant is covered by drifting snow there may be a service charge to remove the snow.

In the event there is heavy snowfall and the customer requests the snow to be removed from the site, the customer can expect to be charged an additional fee for a service call, heavy equipment use and labor.

The average snow contract removal season is from the 1st of December through the 1st of April. This is a weather dictated service and these dates may vary.

When your area receives an average snowfall of two inches or greater, and the snow ceases to fall, Technicare is guaranteed to have your snow removed by the end of the next business day, however, we will make every attempt to remove the snow as soon as possible. Should you want Technicare to remove snow when accumulation is below two inches, you may call to inform us. We will then make every effort to remove your snow as soon as possible for the same service fee.

You can expect your driveway to be cleared of all accumulated snow. Pre-existing ice cannot be removed by plow or shovel, de-icing compounds will be put down to melt the ice. You may elect to have snow removed from other surfaces as well, such as sidewalks, walkways and porches. Be sure to communicate that to the estimator at the time of the estimate. It is very important to move all vehicles off of the main driveway as soon as possible. Any car left on the driveway will prevent our technicians from fully removing all snow and ice.

When we receive snow storms that produce snow precipitation throughout the day, you can expect that Technicare will be monitoring the situation closely. Once the snow accumulation has decreased or stopped, Technicare is guaranteed to be on your property clearing snow for all contracted areas on or before the next business day.

If snowdrifts form after your property has been cleared of snow, there would be an additional charge for Technicare to return to your property to remove the snow drifts.

Parked vehicles make it impossible to clear all drive and parking areas during the first visit after a snow storm. It is in our clients? best interest to move the vehicle as soon as they see that snowfall is imminent. Our technicians will do their best to plow what is available and use shovels for the rest of the areas. In cases where a parked car makes it impossible for us to plow, forcing us to use shovels for over 600 sq. ft., there may be an additional charge assessed.

Technicare may apply de-icing materials when slippery conditions exist after snowfall or freezing rain. A de-icing compound will be applied to all concrete areas specified in the snow contract. Technicare uses only industry standard de-icing materials that minimize damages to landscape and property structure while melting ice and snow. You may elect to have Technicare apply de-icing compounds before an impending snow or ice storm for an additional service fee.

For all roadways and drives you can expect a road salt to be applied. For walkways, steps and porches, residents can expect a de-icing product of Calcium Chloride to be applied. Our technicians will spread the de-icing compounds by hand spreader. It is possible that salt runoff will damage turf along the edge of the driveway. Technicare cannot be held responsible should this happen.

Even after de-icing compounds are applied, surfaces may be slippery and dangerous. Please exercise caution at all times when walking on any surface that has been exposed to outside temperatures and conditions. Technicare cannot be held responsible in the event an accident should occur to property or to a person?s body due to slippery surface conditions.

Technicare cannot be held responsible for any damage to concrete or asphalt due to salt or calcium chloride or plow blade. Over time, salt allows water to soak into the concrete and then freeze. This is one cause of the pits you may see in your concrete. You may choose to have us not put down any type of de-icing compound, to do so, please notify our office as soon as possible.

You may choose to have us shovel the snow by hand for any or all surfaces. There could be an additional charge for this service, depending on the size and shape of your driveway. Clients with driveways made from paver stones, bricks, natural stone or any other material must have their driveway shoveled due to the possibility of damage made by the plow blade. Our plow is suspended 1/2 inch above the driveway, however, for certain driveways, this may not be sufficient. Technicare cannot be held responsible for damage or marks made by the plow blade or snow shovel.

Technicare is fully insured for any property damages that are directly caused by our technicians. However, a full damage report must be completed by the party sustaining the damage. It will be assumed that damage reported after 48 hours are not the cause of Technicare.

Technicare will assess the property for all existing site structure damage prior to the start of the snow season. Technicare will not be responsible for any pre-existing damage from previous contractors.

Technicare will take responsibility for the cost of any damages that are incurred due to obvious operator negligence. Technicare will restore the area or object to the same condition prior to the damage.
